Producer: Prima Terra Srl was born in 2003 from the idea and passion of three people who had in common the love for Cinque Terre viticulture and all that represents wine from a 'cultural' and 'environmental' point of view. Walter De Battè is one of the few 'young and idealistic wine growers in Cinque Terre, and he is known worldwide for the quality of his wines and for his personal research in this field.
Vinification method: This wine is the result of the blending of grapes from two 70 year old vineyards in the province of La Spezia. The harvest at Villa Pratola (Val di Magra) started on September 20th, while the one at Zuncone (Cinque Terre) took place on October 15th. The crushed, de-stemmed grapes were placed in stainless steel vats for 4 - 5 days, while fermentation was completed in 500 liter tonneau, leaving the must on the skins "sur lie" with frequent "batonnage." During the summer following the harvest, the wine was racked into stainless steel vats before bottling (approx 15 months from harvest) without filtration. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no added So2.
